Organise pickleball games by text
Court Sort is an app for small friends groups organising pickleball games by
text, operated by Modern Labs LTD (United Kingdom). One member proposes a
game; the group gets a text with a one-tap link; the first three to join are in.
How it works
- A member creates a game (day and time, four players, doubles).
- Each group member receives an SMS invitation with a personal join link.
- Tapping the link shows the game and who's playing — joining is one tap, no app install or account required.
- Players receive a reminder text before the game, and updates if a spot opens or the game is cancelled.
SMS program terms
- Program: Court Sort game notifications (game invitations, reminders, waitlist and cancellation updates). No marketing or promotional content.
- Frequency: varies with group activity; typically 2–8 messages per week.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out: reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for help, or contact hello@modern-labs.co.uk.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How people opt in
There are two ways someone starts receiving messages, and both require consent
before anything is sent.
1 — You sign yourself up. You enter your own mobile number and confirm it
with a one-time code we text you. Creating the account is your opt-in: you only receive
messages about games you are invited to or have joined, and you can reply STOP at any time.
2 — A member adds you. Consent is collected verbally, in person,
before any message is sent. A member may only add a friend after reading them this consent
script and receiving a clear yes:
“I'd like to add you to Court Sort, the app our group uses to organise pickleball.
If you agree, you'll get text messages from Court Sort with game invitations and reminders —
usually a few a week. Message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out any time by replying
STOP. Are you happy for me to add your number?”
Only then does the member enter the friend's name and mobile number in the app. The full workflow,

Privacy
- We store only what the service needs: your name, mobile number, and the games you join.
- Your number is used solely to send the notifications described above and for sign-in codes. It is visible only to members of your own group.
- We record how the app is used — for example, which screens are opened and whether a game was created — so we can improve it. This goes to Mixpanel, our analytics provider, and is linked to an anonymous ID, never your name or mobile number. If the app hits an error, a technical report goes to Sentry so we can fix it.
- We never sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing. Messages are delivered via Twilio as our SMS provider.
